Competitive Company FAQ’s


•    What is a Competitive Company?
An Competitive Company is for the serious dancer. A company is a troupe of auditioned & selected dancers who meet weekly to practice technique, combinations, and a number they will enter in competitions and exhibitions throughout the year. These companies will travel regional Wisconsin competing in dance exhibitions, attend conventions, and participate in community events. An audition is required.


•    What are the types of dance styles offered?
NADC has five different dance styles offered at the competitive level; Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Pom, and Hip Hop. There are two different competitition levels offered, Youth and Senior, with Senior level dancers having slightly more commitment by attending one annual convention and competitng at one additional competition .


•    What is the cost to participate?
There is no additional tuition cost to be a Competitive Company member, however, other costs associated with competitng include convention & competition entry fees, costume & shoe fees, and other minor travel expenses. Convention & Competition rates vary by event and must be paid in full beforehand in full for your dancer to participate.


•    When do the Competitive Companies hold class?
All of our Company classes are marked by an asterisk symbol (*) on the summer & fall schedules. They will meet once per week starting in the summer session and continue through the fall/spring session.


•    When are auditions?
Auditions are held every spring, typically the week after our annual performance near the end of May. Stay tuned for this year's audition scheudle. Contact the studio to pre-register!
