Miss Karlyn
Co-Owner, Executive Director & Instructor (Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Musical Theatre, Acrobatics)
Miss Karlyn serves as NADC's program director and loves watching her students develop a passion for dance! Dancing from an early age, she has experience in many dance styles including ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary, mdern, dance team, musical theatre, acrobatics & tumbling, and dance history. Miss Karlyn started dancing at the competitive level in her youth, attending dance conferences throughout the Midwest, and performed in regional shows which fueled her desire to tain at the college level. In 2010, Karlyn began teaching in the Fox Valley where she taught classes and coached competitive teams and dancers for four years. In 2012, she began her college and dance career at the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay majoring in both Dance Education and Arts Management. In her dance experience at UWGB, Miss Karlyn was fortuntate to be chosen as a featured soloist, as well as a choreographer for the theatre department's annual dance production, "Danceworks". She is currently earning additional credits & education through the National Dance Education Organization, Dance Masters of Wisconsin, and the Chicago National Association of Dance Masters. She is also a certified dance judge through the Wisconsin Association of Cheer & Pom. Miss Karlyn likes to remind her students that great technique can get you far, but a great attitude takes you farther. Miss Karlyn is always excited to share her passion for the performing arts with Calumet County and enjoys bringing dance to the community!
Mr. Tom
Co-Owner, Business Admin
Mr. Tom has been involved in dance for over 28 years watching his daughter, Miss Karlyn, perform on several stages all over Wisconsin. In 2015, he opened New Attitudes Dance Company with Karlyn as part of their small family business. Mr. Tom and his wife Sherri have been running their business, TSS Inc for over 30 years. Mr. Tom lends his expertise in business management as New Attitudes' Co-Owner and Business Administrator. No stranger to the stage or performing for a crowd, he enjoys the performing arts as a talented musician playing several instruments in his band The 2/5th's Party Band all over the Midwest. Mr. Tom and fellow musicians have been known to provide live music for NADC's live performances. He is also NADC's prop master and handy man! If you see a prop on stage, odds are Mr. Tom built it in his shop. He's happy to be a part of the NADC family!
Miss Sara
Office Manager/ Reception
Miss Sara is our friendly face in the studio office! She entered the dance world when her daughter Jordan began taking classes at age three. The more her daughter danced, the more involved she became! She has much expereice "behind the scenes" in studio industry having worked at various studios in the Fox Valley both in reception and bookkeeping. Miss Sara brings her eye for detail and organization expertise to various projects at NADC. She will size your dancer for costumes and shoes, answer your questions about your account, help you with proccessing payment, and communicate important studio information. Miss Sara also acts as NADC's stage manager come show time! Her organization and positive outlook helps NADC run smoothly!
Miss Olivia
Office & Teaching Assistant
Miss Olivia can be found around the office and reception areas helping organize costume & shoe orders, schedule and chaperone studio events, and helps with our social media outlets! You can also find her backstage come showtime as our volunteer organizer, and overall studio assistant when our competitive companies travel! Miss Olivia is a jack of all trades and we're so lucky to have her share her talents with us here at NADC!
Miss Kim
Assistant Program Coordinator/Instructor (Acrobatics, Poms, Kick, Lyrical, Jazz, Technique, & Conditioning)
Miss Kim is excited to share her routines and creative energy with both her competitive and non-competitive classes. When she isn't dancing here at NADC, Ms Kim coaches for Kiel High School’s dance team where they perform jazz, kick, and pom. When she isn't dancing, she can be found spoiling her dog, Token! Dance is her passion and she is so excited to share it with her students!
Miss Annika - Instructor (Ballet, Lyrical, Discover Dance, Petite Pirouettes)
Miss Annika is an NADC alumni, having started in 2015 when the studio doors opened. She danced for many years, taking ballet and also competing with our lyrical and contemporary competitive companies. She has also competed contemporary and lyrical solos where she was recognized with titles such as "Best Musicality" and "Best Emotional Connection" among other judges choice awards. Miss Annika is currently studying elementary education, and her favorite classes to teach our with the dancers just starting out! She is happy to be a part of NADC and continue in her dance journey where she can remind her students that it's the passion of a dancer that makes them great!
Miss Donna - Instructor (Tap, Ballet, Jazz, Musical Theatre, Petite Pirouettes)
Miss Donna started formal dance training when she was 10, though she’s been dancing all her life! At the age of 20, she joined the Chris Monahan Dancers, a company in Bellevue, Nebraska, where she studied Ballet, Tap, Jazz and Modern Dance. This company was trained in the Broadway traditions and as a result, its dancers were taught to use many props including a variety of hats,canes, umbrellas, a variety of stairs and streamers. They performed throughout the Omaha and Lincoln areas until Miss Donna was 29. Shows included annual performances for the Omaha Playhouse and Omaha’s Riverfest, among other shows around the Omaha Metropolitan area. From the ages of 27 to 32, Miss Donna danced with the University of Nebraska at Omaha Modern Ballet Company, and from ages 28 to 31, she danced with the Omaha Junior Ballet under the direction of Ada Kressova, a former Bolshoi Ballerina. At 36, she left Omaha and began studying at Iowa State University where she assisted with the master classes for their dance company. Miss Donna moved to Wisconsin in 2000. At New Attitudes, she teaches Petite Pirouettes, Tap, Ballet, Jazz, & Musical Theatre! She is excited to share her enthusiasm for dance and classic broadway dance styles with her students! Miss Donna says NADC has given her the chance to go back to what she loves!
Miss Emily - Instructor (Petite Pirouettes, Poms, Hip Hop, Jazz, Musical Theatre)
Miss Emily has been dancing with New Attitudes since she was 9 years old and she is excited to share her love for dance with her students! She has taken all kinds of dance classes including pom, jazz, hip hop, lyrical, contemporary, ballet, pointe, musical theatre, kick, and acro. When she’s not dancing, you can find her spending time with friends and family, playing with her dog, Ginger, or in the theater, participating in musicals and assisting backstage. Miss Emily is so excited for this opportunity to instill her love and passion for dance in each and every one of her dancers!
